Troops of 3 Division/Operation Safe Haven Neutralises Two Bandits, Recover Arms, Ammunition in Plateau

In its continued offensive against dangerous criminals domiciled in the Joint Operations Area, troops of 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN on 12 May 2025, neutralised two bandits in Plateau State.

This was contained in a statement by the Media Information Officer of Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major Samson Zhakom which was made available to journalists in Jos, capital of Plateau State.

The statement noted that the feat was achieved when the troops conducted an intelligence-based raid operation at suspected bandits’ hideout at Teng Mountain/Forest in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.

According to the statement, during the operation, the troops made contact with the criminals and overwhelmed them with superior firepower and in the process, troops neutralised 2 bandits.

“Further exploitation of the hideout led to the recovery of the following items:

“One AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, one fabricated rifle which fires 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition, seven rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition, four mobile phones, two motorcycles. 

“Also recovered is a cash sum of One Hundred and Fifty Seven Thousand Nine Hundred Naira (N157,000.00) only; arms and ammunition in custody, of the bandits, while mobile phones also recovered are being examined to aid tracking and arrest of other members of the criminal syndicate” the statement added.

Major Zhakom further said that Operation SAFE HAVEN assures the public, that the activities of these dangerous criminals will continually be met with stiff resistance from troops who are poised to sustain offensive operations against the miscreants in every means possible.
