A lady , with the name, Sandra Adeniyi accused of lesbianism is reportedly on the run for fear of being arrested and prosecuted by the police.
Miss Adeniyi and her partner were allegedly caught by a curious resident on February 14, 2016 while engaging in illicit sexual act inside an uncompleted building in the Egor area, Benin City with someone of same sex.
She was however alleged to have broken loose from the man’s grip and fled the scene before the arrival of other persons.
The police were later called in and the suspect handed over to them for investigations and probable prosecution.Reports however said that almost seven years after, one of the suspects, Sandra Adeniyi is still running from the long arm of the law.
Homosexuality, lesbianism or same-sex relationship is considered an abomination and forbidden in African societies.
It’s also a criminal offence in Nigeria where offenders risked being jailed between ten to fifteen years.
Nevertheless, a socio-cultural group, African Renaissance, has called for more concerted efforts to curb the increasing menace of LGTB persons in Nigeria.
The group said in a statement in Abuja that the nation was sliding into a sodomised society where indecent sexual behaviour was gradually becoming a lifestyle.
