A young lady, named Sandra Adeniyi accused of being lesbianism is reportedly still on the run for fear of being arrested and prosecuted by the police.
Miss Adeniyi and her partner were allegedly caught by a curious resident on February 14, ,2016 while engaging in illicit sexual act inside an uncompleted building in the Egor area, Benin City, Eso State Nigeria.
As at the time she was caught with her partner, she alleged to have broke loose grip from the man that held her and fled the scene before the arrival of other persons.
The police were later called in and the other suspect handed over to them for investigations and probable prosecution.Reports however said that more that six years after, one of the suspects, Sandra Adeniyi is still running from the long arm of the law.
Homosexuality, lesbianism or same-sex relationship is considered an abomination in Nigeria and other African societies.It’s also a criminal offence in Nigeria where offenders risked being jailed between 10 – 15 years.
Meanwhile, a socio-cultural group, African Renaissance, has called for more concerted efforts to curb the increasing menace of LGTB persons in Nigeria.
The group said in a statement in Abuja that the nation was sliding into a sodomy where indecent sexual behaviour is gradually becoming a lifestyle.
