The National Vice Chairman, South-south of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih, has summoned a meeting of the zonal executive ahead of the upcoming zonal congress of the party.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), this is contained in a statement issued by Orbih in Abuja on Wednesday.
Orbih said the meeting, which will take place this Saturday, was in accordance with Article 27(3) of the Constitution of the party, (2017) as amended.
“Notice is hereby given to all members of South-South Zonal Executive Committee of the Party that a meeting of the Zonal Executive Committee (ZEC) will take place on Saturday, February 15.
“The agenda of the meeting will cover discussions on the 2025 Zonal Elective Congress along with other relevant matters concerning the party and the zone,” he said.
Orbih was, however, silent on whether issues pertaining to the crisis in Rivers chapter of the party would be discussed.
The South-South remains the main fortress of the PDP with the party in control of four of the six states in the zone.
