Soludo Gives N1.524b Education Grant to Mission Schools in Anambra

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has gave the sum N1.524 billion as allocation to support “Grant-in-Aid” to public mission schools in the state.

This historic move by Soludo is expected to have a profound impact on the education sector, particularly for mission schools. 

The funds were distributed as follows:

Catholic Mission Public Schools: N985 miilion to benefit a total of 459 schools which have been returned to their administration.

Anglican Mission Public Schools: N550million comprising 275 schools returned to their control.

Salvation Army Schools: N16million to benefit eight returned schools under their management.

Pentecostal Schools: N40million for a total of 20 schools.

This extraordinary commitment to education is expected to significantly improve the quality of education and infrastructure in these mission schools, ultimately benefiting the students and communities they serve.

The Governor’s action has been met with praise from various quarters, and it marks a promising step forward for the education sector in Anambra State. 

The allocation of such a substantial amount underscores the government’s dedication to enhancing educational opportunities for all, regardless of religious affiliation.
