Senate president allegedly withdraws presidential ambition, to run for senate instead

The Nigeria Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, has reportedly withdrew from the presidential race of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Information obtained by Town Crier News has it that in place of his presidential ambition, the Yobe State-born Senator, wants to run for another term in the Senate, to represent Yobe East Senatorial district.
Although Lawan is among the contenders of the APC presidential primary election haven purchased form and paid the N100 million fee, he was also said to have purchased, filled and submitted his form for the Senatorial seat and would run run along side Bashir Sheriff and Saidi Yakubu for the same Senatorial district.
With this development the Senate President appears has bowed to pressures to support a candidate of Southern extraction in line with the position of his party for a return of power to the South.
