Remembering Nigeria Foremost Chartered Accountant and Elder Statesman on His Birthday August 9

We remembered the birthday of Pa Akintola Williams, a foremost Chartered Accountant.

Pa Williams, regarded as the doyen of the accountancy profession in Nigeria was born on August 1st 9 August 1919 – 11 September 2023.

He was the first Nigerian to qualify as a chartered accountant and also the first President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (I CAN).

He played a leading role in establishing the association of accountants in Nigeria in 1960 with the goal of training accountants. 

The late Williams turned 100 in August 2019, and died at his home in Lagos on 11 September 2023, at the age of 104.
