Five winners have emerged in the Tour Africa Lottery, sponsored by the Linas International and supported by the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA).

The winners include Linda Ezirim, Christiana Sanni, Juliet Ezeugbo, Hope Omale and Ifeoma Okparajiego.

Senator Ned Nwoko, Chairman, Project Tourism Africa, while hosting the winners on Sunday in Abuja, reaffirmed his dedication to advancing tourism as a cornerstone of Africa’s economic transformation.

He welcomed the winners of the inaugural Visit Rwanda campaign, and commended the winners for their achievement.

He said tourism was not just a tool for economic growth but also a means to connect people and promote cultural understanding.

“Tourism is not just a tool for economic growth; it is a means to connect people, promote cultural understanding, and foster regional unity.

“Through initiatives like Project Tourism, we are redefining Africa’s narrative and showcasing the continent as a premier destination on the global stage,” he said.

The lawmaker, who is a strong advocate of a Pan-African tourism and development, charged the winners to remain focused on the goals of the trip, which include fostering cultural exchange.

He said they should also appreciate Africa’s natural beauty and bringing back valuable lessons.

He stressed the need to preserve the rich cultural identities of post-colonial Africa peoples, noting their significance to the continent’s heritage.

Mr Chukwuebuka Anyaduba, Project Director, Tour Africa, commended the winners and explained that the Visit Rwanda campaign was expected to bridge gaps between African nations.

He said it was also meant to inspire the exploration of the continent’s unparalleled beauty.

“This campaign underscores the transformative power of tourism. It connects people, cultures, and economies in profound ways.

“What we are witnessing today is just the beginning of Project Tourism Africa’s vision to amplify Africa’s voice on the global tourism map,” he said.

The winners of the Visit Rwanda campaign, who are set to embark on a one week tourism journey and tour to Rwanda from Sunday expressed their gratitude for the opportunity.

They lauded the Tour Africa Lottery for creating a platform that encourages pan-African exploration and fosters cultural appreciation.

The trip would be coordinated by East Africa Regional Representative for Project Tourism, Ms Anita Soina.
