Police Hunt For Master-mind Of Benue Reprisal Attack

The police have spread their dragnet in pursuit of one Alex Jonathan who is alleged to be the Master-mind of the January 6,2018 reprisal attack in Guma, Benue state.
Alex Jonathan who hails from Isoko in Delta state had lived peacefully in Guma for years until January 3,2018 when the peaceful life in the town was shattered by the invasion of Fulani herdsmen.
A number of persons, including women and children were brutally murdered in broad daylight by the attackers who were armed with automatic rifles,Ak 47 guns and other dangerous weapons. Houses, shops , schools and churches were reportedly torched during the invasion which left the once tranquil agrarian community in utter ruins.
Three days after the bloody attack, youths and men in Guma, smacking of anger mobilised for a reprisal attack. The attack was reportedly deadly as scores of herdsmen and hundreds of cattle were decimated.
The police made a couple of arrests after the incident. According to sources, one of those arrested, one Odion from Edo State, gave security operatives the lead which prompted the hunt for Alex Jonathan as the master mind of the January 2018, reprisal attack by the people of Guma against the Fulani herdsmen in Benue state.
Although, a recent visit to Edo State by detectives on the trail of the suspect was reportedly unsuccessful, Alex Jonathan according to police sources, remains a wanted person.
