One Hospitalised, Others Missing as Thugs, Cult Group Attack LP Campaign Team Leader and Family

The leader of Labour Party (LP) Campaign Team in Egor Local Government Area, Mr Osagbemwenorhue Omosigho and other members of  his family have been allegedly attacked by thugs and persons believed to  be cultists.

Reports say the Omosigho’s family home at No. 4,  Osazuwa street, off Uwelu Road, Benin City, was invaded by unknown gunmen on  September 5, 2023..

During the attack, the LP campaign team leader’s father, Mr Felix Omosigho was brutally injured during the attack and is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital as a result of the severe injuries in sustained.

It was gathered that the attack may not be unconnected with politics as it was said to have occurred few hours after his son Henry Omosigho on September 4, 2023, declared his intention to run for the Edo State 2024  Governorship election under the platform of the Labour Party.

Both father and son had been active members of the All Progressive Congress until  when they decided to cross carpet to the Labour Party.

Mr Omosigho’s wife, Mrs Bridget Omosigho, while narrating the family’s ordeal, called on the law enforcement agencies to do all  they can to bring the perpetrators to book and also protect the family as they now live in fears.

At the time of filling in this report, Mr Felix Omosigho is still lying critically in the hospital bed while the  whereabouts of his three children namely;  Osagbemwenorhue Omosigho, Henry Omosigho, Frank U  Omosigho and daughter-in -law, Mrs Oghenewede Omosigho remained unknown.
