Nnamdi kanu to unknown Gunmen: stop the bloodletting in southeast

0 21

The detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Maxi Nnamdi Kanu, has ordered that the bloodletting in the Southeast geo-political zone perpetrated by ‘Unknown Gunmen’, must stop.
Younger to detained Nnamdi Kanu, Emmanuel Kanu, relayed the IPOB leader’s message on Monday.
Emmanuel who visited Kanu in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) earlier quoted Kanu as said that “all those behind the current killings in southeast must be held accountable for their atrocities because Igbo people are not known for cannibalism, beheadings, or mindless killings.”
Kanu’s message is coming after police discovered the severed head of a state legislator who went missing last week in Anambra State. In Anambra and other southeast states, the federal government has accused separatists of carrying out a spate of killings and kidnappings.
IPOB has been leading calls for the secession of the region, the homeland of the Igbo ethnic group, from the rest of Nigeria because of perceived marginalisation and neglect of the area by the Nigerian government.
Kanu, is currently being detained and charged for “terrorism” and treason by the federal government.
