Nigerian of Igbo Extraction, amanda azubuike becomes Brig-gen in United States army

A senior commander in the United States Army, Amanda Azubuike has been given the rank of Brigadier General as a result of her promotion.
Amanda’s parents were born in their respective homelands of Nigeria and Zimbabwe, and she currently serves at Fort Knox, which is located in Kentucky.
She was born in London, which is located in the United Kingdom. In 1994, she entered the military and, after successfully completing the Army Aviation Officer Basic Course, she became an aviator.
Amanda also received her bachelor of arts degree in Communications from the University of Central Arkansas.
After graduating from flight school in 1995 with a certificate as a UH-1 pilot, the officer started her career with the 924th Aviation Support Battalion at Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia.
She completed the Military Intelligence Captain’s Career Course as well as the Fixed Wing Multi-Engine Qualification Course, beginning her service in South Korea with the 3rd Military Intelligence Battalion.
Between July 2005 to June 2006, she served in Kuwait as part of her assignment with the Coalition Forces Land Component Command. During that time, she participated in the Public Affairs Officer Qualification Course.
Fort McPherson, Georgia served as the location of the headquarters for the United States Army Central Command, and Amanda was sent there as the Chief of Media Relations and Public Affairs Operations Officer.
The General had additional experience working in the Community Outreach Division of the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs at the Pentagon.
She held the position of Chief of Public Affairs for the United States Southern Command Headquarters in Doral, Florida, as well as the position of Senior Military Assistant to the Principal Deputy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the Pentagon.
Camp Arifjan, which is located in Kuwait, and Bagram, which is located in Afghanistan are two of the operational deployments that Amanda has completed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn, and Enduring Freedom.
Her awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal. In addition, she was awarded the Army Aviator Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Parachutist Badge.
