Nigeria Troops Arrest Suspected Boko Haram Fighters Collecting Taxes, Levies from Villagers in Bornu

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s Operation Hadin Kai in partnership with the Civilian Joint Task Force have arrested four suspected Boko Haram members in Borno State.
A military source told SaharaReporters that the suspects were “arrested while collecting taxes and levies from villagers at Borno Yesu, close to Dushewu village in the Magumeri Local Government Area of the state.”
The arrest as gathered, is coming a few days after SaharaReporters published tax receipts issued by the terror group to farmers and herdsman in some North-East states.
The receipts were issued to residents of some farming communities in Borno State under the control of the group after collection of levies and taxes from them.
It has been severally reported last year  how the insurgent groups had been taxing residents of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe State and failure of the residents to comply with the directive attracts the death penalty.
Similarly reported was how members of ISWAP established two Wilaya’s (Caliphates) at Lake Chad and Sambisa forest to sustain its war against countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
