Nigeria Foremost Constitutional Lawyer, Author and Pioneer Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof. Ben Nwabueze Dies @ 92

Foremost Constitutional Lawyer, Author and one-time Secretary General of Igbo apex body, Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide, Ben Nwabueze is dead.

The professor of jurisprudence, who was also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) was said to have died on Sunday evening at the age of 92.

He was born in 1931, in Atani, Anambra State.

The family of the nonegenerian, and legal luminary, confirmed his demise through the member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Afam Ogene and the President General of Atani Town Union, Arinze Nzeli.

Reacting to his death the family through Eni Nwabueze, MD, said that Prof. Nwabueze lived an exemplary life of consequence.

The brief statement read: “With great sadness, we announce the passing on to celestial glory of our patriarch, Professor B. O. Nwabueze SAN, NNOM, CON, pioneer Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Oduah Afo-na-isagba of Atani, Anambra State, on Sunday October 29, 2023 aged 94.

“He lived an exemplary life of consequence. Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.”
