Mighty Diamond lead vocalist, ‘Tabby’, killed in gun attack

Tabby Diamond, lead singer for the legendary Jamaican Reggae Group, The Mighty Diamonds, has been killed.
He was one of two persons killed on Tuesday night in a drive-by shooting on McKinley Drive in St. Andrew.
The other victim of the shooting was Owen Beckford, a relative of Diamond.
The St. Andrew South Police confirmed that Tabby Diamond, aged 67, whose real name is Donald Shaw, and Owen Beckford were killed when a gunman opened fire on a group of people outside a shop around 9:42 p.m. Tuesday night.

In a statement to Loop NewsTown Crier News Entertainment/Lifestyle, quoted St Andrew Police Division’s Senior Police Superintendent Kirk Ricketts as saying “a preliminary investigation indicated the shooting might be connected to an ongoing local gang conflict.”
