Meet First Nigerian Professor of Electrical, Electronic Engineering

Professor Mark Chijioke is the 

first Nigerian Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

He is also the  pioneer Rector of the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Enugu.

Professor Chijioke, a native of Ugwu Aro in Arochukwu, Abia State, clocked 86 in February.

He was educated at Methodist College, Uzuakoli; University College, Ibadan and the University of London, Queen Mary’s College. 

He is also the first Nigerian Ph.D holder in Electrical/Electronic and lectured at the Nigeria College of Arts and Science, Zaria; foundation staff member, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU),  Zaria; Chairman, PRODA; Dean, UNN; Executive Director, Centre for Adaptation of Technology, Awka; founder, African Institute of Technical Training and Research for OAU and UN.

At present, he is a Professor of Physics and Mathematics, Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu. He is married and blessed with children and grand children.
