The Vice Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Yusuf Datti has warned President Muhammadu Bihari, and the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Arowoola not to risk their lives to inaugurate, President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the president of Nigeria.
He said Tinubu’s certificate of return given by INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu, was a dud certificate
According to him, APC did not comply with the requirements of Section 134 (2)(a) and (b) of the Nigerian constitution for election into the office of President.
Yusuf Datti, who stated this in an interview with Channels Television, noted that “As a result, it would be unconstitutional to appoint Bola Tinubu as the country’s next president.
“Because he won less than 25% of the vote in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Bola Tinubu was not legally eligible to be elected president and cannot be sworn in.”
He added that the president of Nigeria must make sure that the constitution is upheld.
He said: “I’m cautioning Buhari and CJN to not put their lives in danger while holding the inauguration and swearing in Tinubu. Those who have not complied with the constitutional standards cannot be sworn in. If you do it, you have broken the law and violated the constitution.”
