In commemoration of the International Women’s Day and as part at their quarterly Breakfast Debate programme, the Institut français du Nigeria and the Embassy of France in Nigeria will formally organises a breakfast debate on “Women in Science” tomorrow, March 10, 2023The International Women’s Day was celebrated globally on the 8th of March, 2023 in commemoration of the womanhood
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the embassy, Onyinye Madu, the breakfast debate is aimed at addressing the complex issues surrounding the inclusion of Nigerian women in science and technology.
The statement added that after the breakfast, participants will have the opportunity to listen to a panel discussion discussing the challenges faced by women to break the glass ceiling in STEM.
The breakfast debate which is scheduled to take place at the Institut français du Nigéria, 52 Libreville Cres, Wuse 2, Abuja by 10th March 2023 at 10:30 am, will have in attendance: H.E Emmanuelle Blatmann, Ambassador of France to Nigeria; while Carolyn Seaman, President of the Nigerian TechWomen Alumni Association will be the moderator
Participants at the debate are the director of the NGO TechHer Chioma Agwuegbo, the Program Lead for Immersive Tech Africa Oluwabunmi Borokinni and Dr. Amina Sambo, Ag Director at the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
