Hired Fulani mercenaries responsible for Attack on Oyo Prison, free notorious bandit, kidnapper, Iskilu Waliki

Hired mercenaries of Fulani stock have been fingered as those who masterminded the Friday night’s attack on Abolongo correctional Facility, in Oyo State, Nigeria.

The Abolongo correctional facility came under heavy attack by some gunmen who freed many of the inmates during the operation

The invaders were said to have arrived the facility in commando style about 11:00pm, shooting sporadically to scare those around.

It was also gathered that they used explosives to open the prison gate which led to the release inmates.

However, the invasion as gathered was a decoy as the main objective was to free Iskilu Wakili, a prominent Fulani in detention for being behind the several killings and kidnapping in Ibarapa area of Oyo State. 

Waikiki has been in prison custody after he was arrested in March this year by the regional security outfit, Amotekun and immediately handed over to the Police for prosecution.
