Helicopter Crashes in Lagos

Two persons have been rescued as a chopper crashed into a building in the Ikeja area of Lagos State on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash was said to have occured at the Oba Akran area of Ikeja, the capital of Lagos.

According to eyewitness, the incident happened at about 3.30pm.

It was not clear as at press time if the pilots of the chopper survived or if there were other casualties but two persons were said to have been rescued by sympathisers who came to the scene as men of the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service are being awaited for further emergency operation to salvage the situation.

Meanwhile, the National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) has confirmed the air mishap to newsmen.

The South West coordinator of the agency, Ibrahim Farinloye who confirmed the occurrence, said that the control tower stated that two persons were onboard the chopper before it crashed.
