FG to Install Security Surveillance System Along Abuja-Kaduna Highway

Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has inaugurated an 8-man committee for the provision and installation of security surveillance system along Abuja-Kaduna highway and rail line.

Badaru said on Tuesday in Abuja that the provision of the surveillance system was to checkmate the frequent security breaches along the routes.

In report by News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the committee, headed by the Director Joint Services in the ministry, has members drawn from the security agencies.

The minister further said that the inauguration of the committee signified a remarkable milestone in ensuring safety along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway and Railway.

He expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to deliver tangible results, thereby reinforcing Federal Government’s commitment towards addressing security concerns on major transportation routes in the country.

The defence minister who said the committee has 18 months to complete its assignment, also madated it to source for security surveillance system that meets the technical specifications, ensure its successful installation, and suggest other measures necessary for the seamless implementation of the system.
