Female gun runner arrested in delta


The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a female passenger, whose name was given as Victoria Itila for allegedly transporting arms and ammunition.
In a statement by the state Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed Ali and signed by the command Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, was arrested along the Sapele-Benin highway in Delta State.
According to the statement, “The Eagle-Net Special Squad of the command, during a routine stop and search duty has arrested a female passenger, Mrs. Victoria Itila for allegedly transporting arms and ammunition to her destination.
“The Police recovered from the female suspect, six locally made double barrel guns concealed in an umbrella.”
The Police image maker said, the sqaud intercepted a Toyota Hiace Bus with registration number: OLG 13 EFR and subjected the passengers to a search.
Edafe said it was during the search that the suspect was arrested with the guns hidden in an umbrella, adding thatinvestigations into the matter has commenced.
