There unprecedented jubilations yesterday after the Federal High Court in Abuja delivered a groundbreaking judgment affirming Alhaji Yusuf Asamah Kadiri, SAN, as the Deputy Governorship candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in the Edo State governorship polls slated for September 21, 2024.
The Court’s declared that the nomination process for Alhaji Kadiri not only met but “over-complied” with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Electoral Act, and the Labour Party’s constitutional guidelines.
The Court further directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately accept, process, and publish Alhaji Kadiri’s name in the official list of candidates, cementing his place in the upcoming election.
Since this declaration news broke, Edo people have been in a state of wild jubilation, saying that Alhaji Kadiri is as perfect complement to Olumide Akpata’s gubernatorial ambition.
