Edo Commits to Building Robust Relationship With NGOs to Drive Development — Deputy Governor

The Edo State deputy governor, Mr. Dennis Idahosa, has assured the state government’s commitment to establishing a robust and impact-driven relationship with the Conference of Non-governmental Organisations (CONGOS) to drive development across all sectors in the state. 

Idahosa made the commitment when he played host to the executives and members of the CONGOS, Edo State Chapter, led by its President, Bartholomew Okoudo, on a courtesy visit to the Government House, on Tuesday.

According to him, the strategic mission and objectives governing CONGOS, in driving humanitarian impacts to citizens and residents of the state, served as the primary reason for his support to the body over the years.

“The Conference of Non-governmental Organizations in Edo State has been a very close friend, and even before I ventured into politics, we have been very close.

“The reason why I decided to be close to this organisation is because of their belief, their objectives, and today I am receiving you as the deputy governor of Edo State, which is even a better platform for us to collaborate with each other for the interest of Edo people. 

“Our government is committed to closing the communications gap that exists between the government and its citizens. We are so proud to engage with you as a critical stakeholder in the state”, the Edo Deputy Governor stated.

He added, “You made mention of a robust relationship between the CONGOS and the state Government. By the grace of God, we are going to work on it.”

Earlier in his address, the President of the CONGOS, Bartholomew Okoudo, commended the Senator Monday Okpebholo-led administration in changing the infrastructural narrative of the state just within 120 days of his administration.

He appealed for synergy between the state government and the association.
