Abuja federal high court has ordered that Abba Kyari, a former Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) leader be transferred to Kuje Prison
Justice Emeka Nwike, presiding over the case, also ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), to transfer the six other suspects facing drug trafficking charges alongside the embattled super cop the Kuje Correctional Center.

Justice Emeka’s judgment which follows the denying of Kyari and other co-defendants bail, held that the NDLEA presented sufficient materials before the court to warrant Kyari’s bail plea denial. Other former members of the  IRT, denied bail are ACP Sunday Ubia, Inspector Simon Agirgba, and Inspector John Nuhu.
Other defendants in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/57/2022, are; ASP Bawa James, as well as two drug traffickers that were arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus Ezenwane.
Nevertheless, Justice Nwike ordered an accelerated trial of the defendants which he fixed for April 28 for the review of facts in respect of the case against Umeibe and Ezenwane.
