Comrade Adams Oshiomhole ‘s Defiance : A Metaphor for the Oppressed Nigerian Aviation Passengers

Nigerian Airline Passengers are under siege. Besieged by an oppressive regime of airline operators bouyed by the compromised aviation regulators , what you have are tales of woes from one passenger to another .

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is a cesspool of impunity. From over grown surroundings of run ways , to Depature Lounges that are as hot as hell, to most Airports not having night landing facilities, adequate fire policies , to over priced services and goods precipated by shylock shop prices , Nigerian Airports are like ATM Machines of the rich and mighty.

A comparative analysis of local flight prices in other countries, when compared to Nigeria, shows that Nigeria has one of the highest prices for local flights in the world and one of the cheapest human resources comparatively.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has grandiose rules that are observed in breach .Nigerian Airlines are in competition on which one of them break the rules more than the other .

I have been a victim of these shenanigans. As a matter of fact, one of my friends made me drop a case against one of the airlines .

The Airlines are a good example of “Do what I say , but don’t do what I do.”A bunch of hypocrites who take Nigerians as fools .It can only take an Adams Oshiomhole to bring the obnoxiousness of the Airlines to the fore .

Love him or hate him , Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has an unusual mien of striking the National Cord .He has always gone on the road less travelled. He is more or less a path finder or trail blazer.

Air Peace is obviously the villain in this misadventure .Nigerians are tired of delayed and cancelled flights without compensation, and when you come a minute late, these Shylock Airlines suddenly know the rules .The deny you boarding, even when the airplane entry doors are still open , an obvious callous action targeted mostly at the week .

There is an Adams Oshiomhole in us all.We must rise as a collective to fight against the oppressive Airlines and their internal collaborators .This is a fight for change and change is a challenge to the adventurous, but a threat to the obscure. Insecure
