Breaking News: Abia Gov Blocks EFCC Convoy From Transfering 59 Youths to Abuja

The Abia State Governor, Mr. Alex Otti has reportedly blocked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) convoy in Aba, preventing the transfer of 59 detained youths to Abuja. 

The anti graft agency was said to have stormed Aba, the commercial City of the state and arrested 59 youths with the aim of transferring them to Abuja.

However, Governor Otti was said to have ordered his security team to stop the convoy and demanded the immediate release of the youths, directing the EFCC to leave Aba.

In a terse message the governor said: “Youths from Aba are not thieves or killer herdsmen. I will not condone such arrests under my administration. I suggest the EFCC redirect their efforts towards arresting Fulani herdsmen in Sokoto, rather than innocent Aba youths.”
