Less than 24-hours to the Anambra State governorship election, the Inspector General
of Police has removed Deputy
Inspector General of Police, DIG
Joseph Ebgunike as the head of
team for the election.
Although no reason was advanced for
Egbunike’s removal, but Town Crier News
gathered that he may have been asked
to excuse himself from the election
because is his an indigene of the state
and may compromise the outcome.
When contacted on the development,

Frank Mba confirmed that DIG
Egbunike just stepped down
to allow another senior experienced
senior officer
Egbunike has was replaced with
the Acting Deputy Inspector General of
Police in charge of Opeation, DIG
Zaki Ahmed.
