A mob has reportedly Stripped two women naked for allegedly stealing the sum of N100,000 from a shop.
The ugly incident was said to have happened around Dutsen Alhaji Market, Bwari Area Council of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The stripped women were alleged to have stole the sum of N100, 000 from a shop which sells wine.
Reports had it that the women had gone into the wine shop on, March 28th, on the pretext of buying some wine but while one of the women approached the shop owner and was beating down the price of one of the wine bottles, her gang member sneakily dipped her hand into the cash drawer and stole the money.
However, luck ran out of both as they were seen by the shop owner who raised an alarm as they were about running from the shop.
The alarm drew the attention of other traders in the market who immediately came to the scene and on searching the lady, the money was seen on her and the traders did the unthinkable by stripping them naked and taking them around the market.
It took the arrival of the police to save the women from more humiliation as they provided them with clothes to cover their nakedness before whisking them away from the scene.
According to an eyewitness, “The two women were taken around the entire market naked and humiliated by angry mob who said they are women and shouldn’t have got themselves involved in any robbery activities.
“The two women were brutally beaten and made to face the full wrath of the law before they were handed over to the police.
“If not for the quick intervention of the police the suspects would have been burnt to death, especially nowadays where youths believe so much in jungle justice.”
