Bandits now imposes tax on occupied communities in Sokoto

The security situation in Northwest part of Nigeria has gone out of hand as bandits operating in that axis now Imposes Tax on communities in Sokoto State.
The communities, number about 42 now
 live in fear of the presiding warlaord, and
 commander, Bello Turji.

To show how brazing they are, deadline 

for the payment was also set according

Turji, the bandits leader, was said to

have relocated from Zamfara to Sokoto

in the heat of Nigeria military incursion

that led to the seizure of communication

network for security reasons.

It was gathered that since Turji found a

new haven in Sokoto forest communities

within the occupies forest area have not

had peace for one moment.

Operating from his erected camp, some 

some district head have been dethroned

and their subjects made to pay royalty to

to Turji has told the affected villagers

to shift loyalty to his installed village 

heads.

Speaking on the development, a village

said “since October he came in, we have 

been paying tax to him through his own

imposed village heads and if we don’t

pay they will kill our people and there is

nothing we can do since government has

shown lack of interest. Communities

have had sleepless nights rallying

round to raise the money
