APC, PDP supporters Clash at Governorship Debate in Sokoto

Scores were injured when supporters of the All Progressives Congress and that of Peoples Democratic Party clashed on Wednesday during the governorship debate in Sokoto.
The debate, which was organised by Voice Of America (VOA) Hausa Service, held at the auditorium of Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, with six governorship candidate in attendance namely: APC, PDP, NNPP, ADP, SDP and LP who came to reel out their manifestoes to the people.
Speaking with our correspondent, a supporter of APC who spoke on condition of anonymity blamed the moderator, accusing him of being responsible for the crisis, saying he favoured the PDP.
He explained that in an atmosphere where there are many political parties, one should not give opportunity to only the PDP to ask questions, adding that “the moderator should be hold responsible for the chaos.”
Also reacting, a member of PDP who also spoke on condition of anonimity said the moderator should not be blamed for anything.
He, however, blamed the crisis on the APC supporters at the venue, alleging that it is the nature of the in the state to cause crisis.
He further accused the APC of mutilating all their billboard and posters across the state, explaining that in spite of the provocation, the PDP leaders in state had been telling their supporters to remain calm.
