Numerous Party Supporters Perish, Scores Injured in Auto Crash

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Sunday, confirmed 16 people dead and 83 others injured in an auto accident involving Peoples Democratic Party supporters on Saturday in Plateau State while returning from a zonal campaign rally in Pankshin Local Government Area of the state.

Public Enlightenment Officer, FRSC Plateau State, RC Peter Longsan, who confirmed this in a statement on Sunday, explained that the accident happened on Saturday.

According to the statement, 99 PDP supporters, who were going for rally were involved in the accident, but 16 died while 83 sustained various degrees of injury.

The injured victims were taken to hospitals in Panyam and Mangu town, both in Mangu LGA, the statement confirmed.
