The Ebonyi State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof Benard Ifeanyi Odoh has picked Dr. Nkata Nwani Chuku as his running mate.
Professor Odoh while unveiling Dr. Nkata as his running mate in the state governorship in the presence of newsmen and his teaming supporters at Pinnacle Hotel, Abakaliki, assured of their victory in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) lives up to its name
He said that his administration would not embark on needless projects if elected in 2023 to be the “Chief Executive Servant” in the State.
The APGA flagbearer, however, expressed worry over what he described as a fragmented atmosphere overshadowing the political passion of the South-East people, urging leaders with stakeholders in the zone to seek regional concern rather than personal interest ahead of the 2023 elections. The gubernatorial candidate whose running mate hails from Okposi-Okwu in Ohaozara Local Government Area expressed his preparedness to take over power from the outgoing Governor Dave Umahi’s led administration in 2023, and advised Ebonyi people to ignore the rumour making rounds in some quarters, that the political party, APGA has no structure to win elections in the state.
In his words; “Nobody should be deceived that APGA has no structure in Ebonyi and we are prepared to win election in 2023. I challenge my opponents in other political parties to come for debates so that we know who is prepared to do the job.”
Odoh frowned at the rising cost of living following hyper inflation in food commodities in Ebonyi State and pledged to invest in the citizens by providing good healthcare facilities, standard education and adequate security of lives and property, among other prospects.
He stressed that “the issue of zoning formula doesn’t matter,” saying “what Ebonyians should be considering much now, is on who is more qualified to govern the state properly.”
Expressing concern about the difficulties faced by inhabitants in the state, Odoh said: “My heart bleeds on issues concerning Ebonyi people who are hawking in the streets of Lagos and other States of the federation now just to erk a living.”
