Kenya police officer went berserk, kill six persons including wife and self

In what appeared to be a possession, a Kenyan police in the capital city, Nairobi went haywire with his AK-47 riffle and shot six people dead, including his wife and thereafter, killing himself.

According to the police report, the officer Benson Imbatu, was said to have first shot and killed his wife at their home before setting off with his service AK-47 rifle to shoot dead another five people.

Although the reportdid not state the cause oPermpage, which happened early Tuesday morning, but Francis Wahome, the officer in charge of the Nairobi Dagoretti Area, confirmed the incident to Reuters but gave no further details according to Premium Times.

Wahome only said, “The officer went on a shooting spree where he shot and killed five people including two brothers (motorcycle) riders one who died while undergoing treatment.”

According to him, “Two other people sustained gunshot injuries and are undergoing treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.

“The firearm was recovered alongside four bullets and four empty cartridges.

“Angry residents near where the incident took place later set fire to tyres on a road in a protest against the violence.”
